Do you have a particular routine you follow every day? Maybe it’s the time of day you wake up or the first thing you do when you get out of bed. Studies show that people who follow a daily routine are more likely to succeed than those who don’t. Now we can go down that road of what success looks like, but we will save that for another post!
After a week of struggling with what it should be, I decided to start my first blog post. It could be procrastination or a lack of inspiration that kept me from prioritizing getting my first post completed. But then I reflected on what I want to help people with and what is the most important thing I teach my employees and other business associates. It starts with a routine.
I wake up every morning at 4 am. Yes, before the chickens and the roosters and even the sun! It’s my routine, no matter where in the world I am. And the number one habit that successful people have in common is that they have a morning routine. This routine includes: waking up early and doing the same daily tasks.
The Benefits of Waking Up Early
The importance of beating the sun up has many benefits! Quite often, these benefits are overlooked. You can be present and alone with yourself before others make demands of you. It allows you to plan your day, write out your goals, and spend quality time with the most critical person in your life – YOU! Think about it, if you don’t take care of yourself, you can not truly love the ones you are with!
Completing your daily morning routine creates success and allows you to feel confident and in control. You will be ready to handle the challenges of life and business that will surely come your way.
Add Exercise To Your Morning Routine
Those who know me know that exercise is a significant part of my life. And as a busy professional, a father, and a husband, stressors can get placed on me instantly! Exercise is the number two task I do each day. And since it is part of my Five F’s, I can achieve a work-life balance. Because following a routine creates success for anyone that sticks to one, I enjoy a sense of accomplishment first thing in the day. And it sets me up to keep going through the day.
Exercise is one of the most neglected, beneficial aspects of life that many adults overlook. Fitness is essential from a mental standpoint, physical well-being, and mental stability. A good sweat is a beautiful way to start the day. And it will set you up for success the entire day!
Plan For Battle And Follow Your Game-plan
Plan your day, or someone else will! I don’t know who originally quoted this term, but it is a wise choice of words!
Each morning I have a: 15-minute “Battle Plan” session. It’s a simple process, and it is one of the things that create SUPER SUCCESS! I review my calendar and develop a battle plan of essential items, what “Liquid” tasks are, and what meetings need planning and outlining.
Having a Battle Plan is vital in so many ways. Business is like going to war. You have to choose your battles and plan for them. Just like a football team has a game plan they will follow to win the big game, you should have a daily battle plan to conquer your goals and your competition!
How Do You Want To Live Your Life?
I know you have heard that coworker, your boss, or a friend say the following: “I forgot!” Or “I just don’t have enough time.”
These words are like fingernails on a chalkboard to my ears! How can these words come out of one’s mouth with regular frequency? No one is perfect, and my wife will tell you that I sometimes “FORGET” to take the trash out. Or “I Forgot the cleaning ladies were coming today!”
And the “I don’t have enough time.” Or the “I am too busy” excuse is exactly that! An excuse. And successful people don’t use these terms or make excuses.
To live your best life, you must plan your day and incorporate the six things that will allow you to live the life you want. Faith, Friendship, Fitness, Finances, Family, and Fun are the six things I plan daily! And if you do the same thing, you can live the best life possible. Success is easy to achieve when you plan your day and schedule the things in life that are important to you.
Success in life looks very different to every one of us. What does success look like to you? Please write down the 6 F’s on a piece of paper, and beside each one, list what it is you want to achieve for each one. It could be having lunch with your best friend once a week or hitting the gym every morning at 5. Whatever they are, plan your day around your 6 F’s, and I promise you will build a routine that creates success for you and those around you.
