Stop waiting for it to get easier.
I need to be the one to tell you, because the people around you never will. That day is not coming. Not tomorrow. Not next year. Not ever.
You climb one hill and a bigger one is already waiting. You kill one fire and two more light up behind you. And somewhere in there a quiet little voice starts asking if something is just wrong with you.
I know that voice. I listened to it for years.
Here is the truth nobody sells you, because the truth does not sell. Life is hard. And it was meant to be hard. That is not a punishment. That is the design. The weight is real, and the weight is yours, and that is the best news you will ever get. Because a weight you can carry is a weight that can make you strong.
It never gets easier. But you can get harder to break.
Picture the path in front of you. You are moving, you are making progress, and a boulder drops dead center in your way. Now the real you shows up. Not the you that talks. The you that chooses.
You can slide around it. Feels smart. Feels safe. But you walk away the exact same size you were, and the next boulder drops you where you stand.
You can turn around and walk back down the path you already bled on. That is the victim. He blames the rock. He blames the path. He blames everybody but the man in the mirror.
Or you put your shoulder into it and you move it. You choose the struggle on purpose. And while you push, something happens that no shortcut can ever give you. Strength becomes the byproduct. And that byproduct becomes a better you.
Now let me tell you about my boulder. Because for years I refused to move it. I strolled around it every single day and called it living.
My boulder was me.
My skill was strong. I could outwork any human alive. But my attitude was face down in the ditch, and I could not see it, because I packed my life with people who only fed me rainbows and unicorns. Soft. Sweet. Useless. So I suffered every single day and could not tell you why.
Then one day the truth got said out loud, and it hit like a hammer.
You suck. You have all this potential and you are too damn stupid to see it. Your skill is strong. But your attitude sucks. And you are digging a hole so deep that your potential will never climb out of it, because your attitude sucks.
That was the wake-up call. That was the eye opening moment. That was the exact thing I needed to hear to change my entire life.
It did not feel like a gift. It felt like a gut shot. But that gut shot was the boulder finally moving. Everything good I have came after that day. Nothing good came before it.
So look in your own mirror and hear me. The people who only hand you rainbows and unicorns are not your friends. I know they feel like friends. They are the roadblock wearing a friend’s face. They keep you soft, and soft is where potential goes to die.
The truth is the boulder. Embrace the suck of hearing it. Then embrace the suck of moving it.
And yes, some days you will do everything right and still lose. Good. You were meant to lose that one so you could learn it, get wiser, and walk back in tomorrow with a weapon you did not own yesterday. That is resilience. You do not buy it. You earn it, rep by rep, walking straight through the hard.
This is what the old stories have taught for thousands of years. The ones in the Bible are still teaching every one of us how to stand up under weight. They can teach you too, if you stop running from the lesson.
But it starts in one place. You. You gotta start with yourself first. Get your own house standing before you try to carry anyone else’s.
You get one life. One. Not a rehearsal. Not a rerun.
So win the day because you showed up and you played the cards in your hand all the way to the felt. Win or lose, the outcome sits on your shoulders and nobody else’s. That is not pressure. That is power. That is freedom.
Stop being a victim. Embrace the suck. Walk straight through that door of hard that shows up every single morning, because behind that door is the only place growth has ever lived.
And when you come out the other side stronger, do not climb alone. Reach back. Grab someone by the wrist and drag them up with you. Because when you lift them, you get lifted too. That is inner strength. That is fortitude. That is a life packed with meaning instead of a life rotting in despair.
You have to want to be better. And to be better, you gotta start with you.
Now go move your boulder.
Keep Shining.
